Objectives of B. Sc Animation
- To create professionals for the
animation industry who are not only trained in the latest tools and
techniques of animation but who are
also educated on the underlying
scientific and artistic concepts.
- To give Students, hands on training
with specialized skills
- To prepare them to initiate and
manage Animation projects while
mentoring them to lead the industry.
- To prepare the students for post
graduation or any other further studies
in India or abroad
1yr Diploma in Animation
By studying the diploma course the
Students will be acquiring the
knowledge/skills and can seek jobs in the
following areas:
Foundation Art as applied to animation and design
Traditional Animation techniques like hand drawn
animation, Techniques of In-betweening,
Clean-up and Key drawings, Animation principles
and processes Digital painting, Colourizing
image manipulation and Flash Animation
Further if they have passed the 10+2 or
equivalent exam with this diploma they can
seek lateral entry into the III semester of the
B.Sc. Animation.
The course is available at all the study
centers of the University where B.Sc.
Animation is conducted.
Eligibility
10+2 or equivalent Passed or Failed
10th Standard + Govt 3 year
Diploma Passed or failed.
Bharathidasan University was
established in February 1982, and was
named after the great revolutionary Tamil
Poet, Bharathidasan (1891-1968). The
motto of the University "We will create a
brave new world" has been framed from
Bharathidasan's poetic words "".
The
University endeavors to be true to such a
vision by creating in the region a brave
new world of academic innovation for
social change". (NAAC, - 2005, p.69) The
year 2006-07 is the Silver Jubilee year for
this great and vibrant University.
The University is unique in its
being "composite" in character. Besides
the different disciplines of liberal Arts and
Basic Sciences, it has a Department of
Pharmacy, School of Bio-Medical
Sciences, Institute of Management,
Department of Educational Technology,
among others. In all, it has 14 Schools,
27 Departments and 8 Centres.
The affiliating jurisdiction is over
138 Arts & Science/Fine Arts/Education
Colleges and 18 Approved Institutions.
Fifteen of the affiliated colleges are
autonomous. Among the ffiliated
colleges, more than 50% are offering PG
programmes and 25% are offering
M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes. A good
number of these colleges are nationally
and internationally recognized for quality
education. The programmes offered
through affiliated colleges are so diverse
that they number more than 250. The
student strength in the affiliated colleges
is over 1.40 lakhs.
Eligibilty
- A pass in10+2 or its equivalent.
- 10th Standard Pass plus the successful
completion of any government approved engineering 3 year diploma course.
Lateral Entry
Undertaking
Students who have completed the BDU
approved Diploma programme and seeking
entry into the III semester have to give an
undertaking that they will complete the
Language Courses (Part I and Part II)
additionally during the III & IV semesters and
Environmental Studies during the sixth
semester which they did not otherwise study
during their Foundation Diploma in Animation.

Students who have completed the One year
Foundation Diploma programme in Animation
run by Toonskool Advanced Animation
Academy which is currently approved by the
BDU can seek lateral entry into the III
semester of the B.Sc Animation after giving
the undertaking.
